About me
Hi, I'm Daisy, mum of two and award winning sleep consultant. I love coffee, crafting and early nights. I can talk about sleep until I'm blue in the face!
I became a sleep consultant after we got help when our daughter was 4.5. She'd started school and was still waking 5+ times a night. It sounds cliched, but working with a sleep consultant literally changed our lives.
I knew that there had to be plenty more families out there going through what we were, and I just couldn't stop thinking about what a difference I could make to them.
I trained as a sleep consultant whilst on maternity leave, and handed my notice in as soon as I returned to my job as a university manager. Within a year I'd replaced my salary, but even better than that I've been able to:
work my own hours around my family (I typically work 9am - 3pm three days a week plus one or two evenings)
attend every school concert and nursery stay-and-play
reduce my son's childcare to three days a week
take time off during the school holidays without using annual leave or asking for permission
I also know I am making such a difference to the lives of so many families, and that's honestly such a privilege.
I'm so passionate about ending the pain of sleep deprivation and dispelling the myths around it. I'd love to help you do the same.
What we stand for at Lavender Blue Sleep Consulting
At Lavender Blue Sleep Consulting we empower mums to do what's right for their families, no matter what society or social media says.
We want to dispel the old fashioned and untrue myths around sleep training and end the pain of sleep deprivation.
We are honest and empathetic with our clients and empower them to change their and their children's lives for the better.
FAQs
What happens after I enrol?
You'll receive an email with your log in details where you can dive straight into the content.
You'll then book a welcome meeting with me and can begin to attend the live sessions too!
How long does this take to complete?
It depends on how much time you have to work on it each week.
If you have six hours a week spare (think evenings, lunchtimes, nap times), it'll take you around 12 weeks to complete.
You can then begin to work with paid clients while you work through the business modules. These will take you a similar amount of time to complete, but aren't obligatory in order to achieve your certification.
What is the assessment at the end?
The assessment is a mixture of multiple choice and free text answers. There is no time limit, you can use your notes and you can retake it as many times as you need to. You'll need to achieve 90% to receive your certification.
Is this for me?
If you can answer “yes” to at least 3 of these, this certification is likely a good fit for you:
You have an interest in supporting families with their child’s sleep
You feel determined to run your own business
You enjoy talking to new people and building relationships
You're willing to learn how to become a brilliant sleep consultant
What does the Certificate allow me to do?
The Certificate in Responsive Sleep Training will allow you to work as a sleep consultant. More than that, it'll show potential clients that you've completed rigorous training at a very high standard.
Is there any ongoing support?
Absolutely. You'll receive access to the weekly live sessions for two years, and access to the Facebook group indefinitely.
Will I get clients?
If you are willing to commit to your business and put yourself out there, yes you will get clients. I'm not going to paint a perfect picture where you'll be fully booked from day one, because it takes time to build up a business and get the clients coming in consistently.
I was personally able to quit my job in less than a year and earn the same, if not more than as a university manager, but it involved hard work and utter determination (and still does!)
I'm already a sleep consultant, can I join to top up my knowledge?
Of course! Not only will you learn basic methods of sleep training in this course, but you'll find out about little known techniques especially for use with older children.
The business elements to the course will be like nothing you've ever been taught before. Forget just one module of basic business training, there are six whole modules on business for sleep consultants. I've also brought in guest speakers so you can learn from the experts.
Let's make you the best sleep consultant you can possibly be, and let's also make it a successful business for you!
I already have a parenting business, can I join to add this to my services?
Absolutely! Sleep consulting goes so well with other parenting business, such as baby classes, hypnobirthing/doula services and childcare roles. In fact, you might have been asked about sleep support before, meaning you'll have access to a ready made list of clients!
When will I make my money back?
This is really hard to say. It depends on so many factors, such as how long it takes you to complete the course, how much time you have to dedicate to your new venture and how much you charge.
If you have 6 hours a week and are super dedicated you could work with 3-4 clients a month, meaning it'll take you 2-3 months to make your investment back.
Can you tell me more about the business training?
I'd love to, as this is a huge part of running a profitable business.
A lot of sleep consultant training courses offer basic business training, but I don't believe this is enough.
Whilst there are plenty of clients out there (around 40% of 4 year olds don't sleep through the night), I'm not going to lie to you and say clients will be beating the door down to work with you.
Marketing, selling and business operations are mindblowing if you have no experience (I certainly didn't) and I want to make sure you get this right from the start.
No fumbling around in the dark, just simple processes to follow to make sure you concentrate on what matters the most, helping families.
You will get access to six business modules specific to being a sleep consultant, all of which include guest expert trainings too.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, you can pay over 12 months to spread the cost. Working with just one client a month will cover this cost.
If you have any other questions, let's chat!
What's App me on 07598756516 and we can chat.
Seriously, no question is too silly and I'd love to support you on your journey to becoming a sleep consultant.
